Maritime Electric Company, Limited is looking for candidates for the role of GIS Technologist.

Under the supervision of the GIS & Data Analytics Coordinator, the GIS Technologist is in charge of transmission and distribution (T&D) asset and connectivity modeling, asset data management, GIS model integrity, and supporting data collection programs. Responsibilities also include creating and maintaining geospatial applications and tools, conducting spatial analysis for operations and project support, ensuring data quality in the GIS, and generating reports with geographic data using data visualizations.

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor's degree or diploma in Geographic Information Systems, or an equivalent certificate. Candidates with two to five years of relevant experience will be preferred.

The candidate should possess the following skills and knowledge, among others:

  • Proficiency in ESRI GIS software suite, including enterprise geodatabases, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Familiarity with Python, ArcGIS Arcade, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of ESRI Field Maps, Survey123, Web AppBuilder, and Dashboards.
  • Competence in computer programs for word processing, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret survey drawings and CADD files for geospatial modeling.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving, job task planning, and organizational skills.
  • Project Management and data analytics software knowledge, such as Power BI, is a plus.

This role provides a competitive compensation and benefits package, with a salary range of $65,000 to $85,000 per year.
