About the Controller Position at a Canadian Consumer Goods Manufacturer:
Join the ML6 team to work closely with a renowned Canadian consumer goods manufacturer seeking a dedicated Controller. This role involves overseeing the financial operations of the facility, from budgeting to providing essential financial insights to the management team.
Your Responsibilities:
- Developing the annual manufacturing budget and creating reports for cost comparison
- Collaborating across teams and leading a dedicated financial team
- Analyzing income statements and variances in detail
- Acting as a financial advisor to the management
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards
- Providing financial guidance and statistics to the leadership
- Supervising accounting tasks, including payroll and accounts payable
- Managing monthly financial closures and preparing manufacturing cost reports
- Overseeing adherence to regulatory reporting requirements
- Monitoring brand cost allocations and involvement in capital projects
Requirements for Success:
- 8-10 years of experience in accounting and business, with a focus on senior finance or controller roles
- Direct involvement in manufacturing environments and expertise in plant operations and cost accounting
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business/Commerce; CPA or CMA certification a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, and accounting software
- Background in auditing and knowledge of internal controls
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for handling sensitive situations
- Strong analytical capabilities and strategic decision-making skills
- Demonstrated accountability, judgment, and goal achievement
- Essential competencies in integrity, collaboration, teamwork, problem-solving, and customer focus
