We are seeking an A&D Representative to grow the market for Ames Tile & Stone in the Greater Vancouver Architecture and Design Community.

Our client

Ames Tile and Stone is a high-performance environment designed around its people. They aim to create a fantastic place to work and earn a living for all of their employees and this embodies itself in a culture of teamwork and collaboration. The Burnaby location is their flagship location, and including the showroom and outside sales team, has approximately 30 staff.

The role

As an A&D Representative for the business in the Lower Mainland, this role builds and develops relationships with large and small design firms in the region. Working closely with the Branch Manager, this person will seek to build relationships with, educate and obtain specifications from designers in the region. The business is ambitious to not only grow market share but to own the market for mid-premium level tile and stone products in the Lower Mainland. Selling to designers, this individual will need to have a passion for interior design, know the industry well, and be looking for a collaborative environment where the team is focused on exceeding the expectations of the customer.

The role will naturally lead to the development of relationships with key builders and contractros and the applicant should be comfortable interfacing with those customers as well and will carry a revenue target for direct sales as well as specification sales.

The strategy is to own projects from cradle to grave meaning that the A&D Rep will be developing relationships with decision-makers within developers as well as design firms and seeing the process through to build. It is important that this person works seamlessly with the territory sales representatives to ensure professional connectivity within the organization and provide customers with best-in-class customer service.

The person

You will be an experienced A&D Sales Representative ideally with existing knowledge of the Vancouver market. You will be passionate about design, and enjoy engaging with designers in the market. You should be curious and motivated to be part of major projects and should not be shy to approach your network to leverage opportunities. This is very much a team-orientated culture and it is important that you can co-operate with other members of the A&D sales team, the Territory Sales Managers, and all other functions within the organization.
