Over the next 30 years, Irving's shipbuilders will construct over 20 modern patrol ships and surface combatants for the Royal Canadian Navy, as part of the largest defense procurement project in Canadian history.

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Director, Human Resources Centres of Expertise will serve as a senior member of the HR leadership team.

Working closely with many stakeholders, the successful candidate will lead a team of HR professionals from various HR disciplines including talent management, talent acquisition, organizational design, organizational effectiveness, compensation, and workforce planning and analytics.

In collaboration with the Vice President, establish the strategy for the respective centers of expertise, working closely with other key members of the senior leadership team to influence business objectives;
Lead and manage teams from a variety of HR disciplines (centers of expertise), including talent management, talent acquisition, organizational design, organization effectiveness, compensation, and workforce planning and analytics;
Maintain close relationships, coordination, and collaboration with senior leaders and union representatives to meet all program requirements, and to ensure organization-wide strategies are successfully implemented;
Adeptly analyze industry trends, HR best practices, and evolving technologies to proactively manage HR-related issues, maximize organizational effectiveness, and further enhance organizational culture;
Lead the people strategy to ensure business alignment, achievement of key metrics, and minimization of risk;
You are confident presenting new ideas to members of the senior leadership team, letting data drive your decisions. Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) or Master of Industrial Relations degree (MIR) would be considered a strong asset;

~ Demonstrated strong organizational, problem-solving, planning, and analytical skills;
