Mainstreet Equity Corporation is a distinguished real estate company which is publicly traded on Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX).

Its business focus is on acquisition & upgrading of residential properties and managing its own portfolio of over 16,000 residential apartments in five major cities across Canada.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Operating Officer the Purchaser will be responsible for negotiating with suppliers and sellers of various goods and services related to property management.

Purchaser will need to coordinate logistics of having supplies delivered and paid for as well as to institute innovative cost saving polices and to improve product quality.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties shall include, but not be limited to the following:

• Finding supplies based on availability, price, necessity, quality and logístical expenses
• Visit vendors to assess their offerings in person. To interview, analyze and assess the quality of products
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure that product needs are identified
• Negotiate on behalf of Mainstreet sale agreements and contracts that are beneficial to the company
• Coordinate overseas sellers and shipping agencies to ensure the timely delivery of goods
• To keep meticulous records or all payments and purchasing expenses
• Maintain records of inventory to determine when new goods need to be purchased

Qualifications and Requirements

• Tertiary level training in business or related field
• Knowledge of building materials in housing construction and renovation industries
• Knowledge of imported building materials standard requirements of Canada
• Possess connections with suppliers and vendors in Canada
• 2 years experience in Purchasing
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
