Job description
Lookout Ridge is a retirement community located in the heart of Pelham, Ontario. We are looking to hire a part-time Dietary Service Attendant. Duties include setting up the dining room, serving meals to residents and clean-up duties. We offer a team environment, scheduling flexibility and opportunity for growth. Hours per week are 22.5 per week.

Skills and Competency Level Required:

  • Can meet the physical demands of the position
  • Can follow written and oral directions
  • Communication skills to deal with others effectively in a retirement community setting
  • Demonstrate a commitment to resident care and provide assistance as needed
  • Can prioritize work and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Can work effectively with mínimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Possess a safe food handling certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Be capable of operating an industrial dishwasher and other basic kitchen equipment
  • Be available to work weekdays and weekend shifts as required. Shifts are either 3:45 pm to 7:30 pm.
  • Always demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and display an understanding of professional guidelines required when dealing with residents
  • Have completed WHMIS training
  • May be required to perform some housekeeping and sanitizing procedures as needed.

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 15 per week

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus pay
