The primary role of Senior Biostatistician is to provide independent statistical support to CINJ principal investigators including statistical study design, statistical programming, data manipulation, data analysis, guided by a CINJ Biostatistics faculty member.

The Senior Biostatistician will participate in statistical methodology research led by a CINJ Biostatistics faculty member. The Senior Biostatistician will also assist the Director in the reporting, tracking and billing of project requests.
Provide independent statistical support to CINJ research projects, in coordination with a faculty member in CINJ Biostatistics, including:

Critically evaluate statistical analysis plan for clinical trials and epidemiological study
Propose statistical analysis plans and sample size calculation
Prepare dataset appropriate for statistical analysis, e.g., cleaning up, merging, and reformatting data
Perform statistical data analysis, computation and programming using SAS and/or R
Manage and maintain study data

Participates in grant development and provide input into hypotheses and study design as well as developing power calculations and comprehensive statistical analysis plans.

Contribute towards the writing of professional presentation and manuscript publication, including writing clear and concise statistical methodology sections and summarizing results in text, tables, and figures.

Perform related tasks assigned by the Director of CINJ Biostatistics, including tracking project requests, completion progress, and estimating hours required for completion.

Assists with the maintenance of client records and invoicing upon project completion.

Understand and adhere to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

Keep abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers's compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Interest policy.

A PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology or related field is required, plus a minimum of three (3) years' work experience in biomedical research in academia, government, or industry.

Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge on current statistical techniques and data analysis.
Experience in database management and manipulating large databases (e.g. Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects with efficient time management and organization skills.
Ability to work effectively as a team member with biomedical researchers. Strong academic publication record in biomedical research is preferred.
