What's the job?

  • Work with Coast Capital Savings' IT Security Operations team on maturing our security monitoring processes, assessing Coast's environment for security improvement opportunities, and collaborating with business stakeholders towards improving Coast Capital's information security posture

What you'll get to do:

  • Assist with day to day security monitoring operations.
  • Gain exposure to enterpriselevel security tools and technologies.
  • Assist with building and enhancing security monitoring processes and workflows.
  • Assist with conducting security assessment work related to maturing Coast's security posture.

Who are we looking for?

  • Students in 3rd or 4th year studies in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Students with previous coop experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with recent trends in security (offensive, defensive) and cyberattacks.
  • Knowledge of security fundamentals (authentication, encryption, secure protocols, detection, authorization, attack trees, malware, etc.).
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience with technical document writing would be an asset.
  • Direct experience and familiarity with Security Operations Center (SOC) technologies such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion prevention Systems (IPS) would be an asset.
