Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Office Supervisor or designate, the employee in this position performs routine and non
- routine clerical tasks including but not limited to word processing, reception and records management.
**Key Duties Performed: •Answers all incoming telephone calls, mail and public and private inquiries and redirects to appropriate
staff member(s) or departments.
- Operates office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, transcription hardware and software,
understanding of basic office procedures.
- Assists with the control and reordering of office supplies.
- Maintains departmental records including but not limited to, transportation permits, gun registration,
press releases and return of suspended driver's licences.
- Liaison between Crown Counsel, Court Registry, Federal Crown, Sheriffs and other R.C.M.P. detachments
- Input, modification and purging of files on Police Information Retrieval System.
- Coding/scoring of files on Operational System of Reporting.
- Entry, access and removal of charges, wants, prohibitions, probations, missing person(s), surveillance
Centre.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Job Description:
RCMP Detachment Clerk
**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS: •Completion of Grade 12 education or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Completion of basic office administration program, or related experience in an office environment,
- Accurate keyboarding/typing skills of 60. Must be familiar with standard computer operations, word
- Compliance with and approval of Security/Reliability Clearance and Criminal Record Search.
- Ability to maintain complete confidentiality.
- The ability to perform all of the duties outlined in a safe manner following established Facility Procedures,
WHMIS and T.D.G.
- The ability to maintain harmonious relationships with all members of the public and other staff members.
- Willingness to comply with all future training requirements.
- Must have the physical ability to carry out all duties of the position including transcribing tapes over long
- Compliance with the Government of Canada mandatory vaccination for employees working in Federal
**DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS: •General training as required by Federal Department of Royal Canadian Mounted Police Division.
- Previous experience in policing support functions and switches board operations.
- Knowledge of Canadian Police Information Centre (C.P.I.C.) data entry, Operations System of Reporting
