Salary:
$15.50/hr
Kayak guides usually work in teams of two or three.

You will be responsible for learning to lead, and then leading rewarding, safe, educational and fun trips for people of many backgrounds and levels of experience.

Our operations and interpretation manual is provided to all guides prior to beginning work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Kayak Fundy lead and assistant guides with service delivery of daytours along the Fundy National Park Coastal route

This includes:

  • Pretour preparation
  • Assist with loading of vehicles and trailers
  • Transporting guests and/or gear to loading/pick up point
  • Loading and unloading of equipment
  • Equipment cleanliness/maintenance
  • Customer service
  • Under the supervision of the Owner and Senior kayak guides, provide:
  • Assistance with getting guests in and out of kayaks
  • Interpretive information to guests
  • Kayak instruction and ensure guest safety
  • Delivering waiver explanation and safety standards review
  • Adherence to safety regulations as set by Transport Canada and Kayak Fundy's own policies and standards
  • Trip clean up

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum Paddle Canada Level
  • Minimum of Basic first aid and CPR; Wilderness First Aid preferred.
  • Standard Class 5 drivers license
  • Outgoing and personable; must be able to entertain varied groups of individuals
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, take directions, and provide direction
  • Reliable telephone and text communication in Alma, Fundy area (check with your service provider)
