Seaview Manor is a compassionate provider of resident centered continuing care serving primarily Zone 3 of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

We are located on the scenic coast of Glace Bay, just 20 minutes from Sydney.

We are committed to providing an optimal quality of life for our residents and provide individuals a full scope of programs and services through a safe, nurturing, and caring environment.


Role Summary


Reporting to the Director of Environmental Services, the Environmental Services Worker is pivotal in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.


Qualifications

  • Grade XII or equivalent
  • Housekeeping experience
  • Alzheimer's course & certified in WHMIS GHS considered an asset

Performance Requirements

  • Must be in good health and physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift (up to 50lbs), frequent squatting, bending, standing, and walking
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Cares for equipment, supplies and work area by ensuring equipment is kept clean and safely stored; defective or damaged equipment and furnishings have been reported through proper documentation
  • Performs & documents required audits, using communication tools
  • Promotes and maintains positive communication and relationships among staff, residents, and the public
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
  • Performs other related duties as required
