The Corporate Finance team plays a critical role in the financial reporting of Equiton Group financial statements, the development and implementation of accounting and financial policy guidelines, and the support of investment initiatives and structures.

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Corporate Accountant will complete financial reporting, forecasting and analysis across various entities, support corporate budgets, work with external auditors to compile annual financial statements, be involved in special projects and implement updated accounting guidelines.

This position will collaborate with various teams including acquisitions, properties management, portfolio investment management, marketing, and compliance to ensure we apply best practices and methodologies in acquisitions, budgets and forecasts and reporting.

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, verify the accuracy of all accounts, and record adjustments as required.
Recording of all banking-related requirements including deposits, wires, EFTs, and account transfers daily.
Assist in the preparation of tax information.

Prepare and update accounting schedules for reporting purposes, including, but not limited to, depreciation entries, prepaids, other receivables and mortgages.

ERP implementation and implementing automated financial reports and reconciliations.
Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective processes & internal controls.

Assist in implementing a process to record transactions by department and compare costs incurred to budget and performance analysis of profit and cost centers.

Support annual audit and review processes through preparation of workpapers and required schedules for entities.
Exceptional computer skills in the operation and functioning of all programs used by the organization, i.e., Microsoft Excel.
Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over these tasks.
Solid understanding of IFRS, financial reporting and technical skills.
Able to analyze, organize, summarize, and articulate complex legal and financial information.
Able to read and interpret agreements, then implement the relevant provisions of these agreements.
Task and goal oriented and capable of functioning in an entrepreneurial and corporate setting
CPA designation (or in later stages of completion) is required
Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in finance/accounting
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, knowledge of NetSuite is preferred.
