As Manager, Impact Assessment you are part of a specialized consulting team providing strategic regulatory and permitting advice and services to private, Indigenous, and public-sector clients engaged in resource, infrastructure, and community development projects throughout Canada.


Key Position Responsibilities:

  • Assisting clients in navigating environmental assessments undertaken by provincial, territorial, or federal government agencies. As part of this, supporting clients in negotiating an administratively fair and timely process;
  • Conducting regulatory research and strategic planning to diagnose what matters most to position clients for regulatory success;
  • Developing and implementing permitting roadmaps, tactical plans and strategic advice to de-risk the regulatory landscape for projects;
  • Supporting clients with Indigenous engagement activities and implementation of agreement commitments in relation to regulatory/environmental matters;
  • Stakeholder relations, and the provision of strategic services in support of public consultation and communication programs; and
  • Supporting one-eighty growth initiatives and leadership of early career professionals
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience will depend on the level of the position offered, but shall include:

Core qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field;
Relevant experience working with regulatory aspects of resource/industrial development, ranging from 4-10 years for the Manager role, and 7-18 years for the Senior Manager role; The following characteristics make you an ideal candidate:

  • Mindset that is curious, team-oriented, and a thirst for continuing to learn no matter how experienced you are;
  • Experience working on major projects reviewable by Canadian federal, provincial, or territorial environmental assessment either as a project proponent, consultant or within a regulatory agency;
  • Courageous and interested in working outside the status-quo, you are unafraid to collaborate in areas outside of your training and experience, in areas such as, Indigenous engagement and negotiations, public relations, as well as the environmental permitting that may be at your roots.
  • Supporting government relations and broader public affairs programs;
  • Excellent project management skills and experience developing and implementing project delivery strategies.

Skills include:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills;
  • Developing negotiation skills;
  • Project leadership skills; and
  • Persuasive and clear communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Experience in the following is an asset:

  • Experience and background that is diverse, having experience with regulatory processes from more than one perspective (e.g. as a proponent and consultant or regulator with government);
  • Indigenous engagement in Canada, including Canadian law and jurisprudence concerning First Nations rights, title, and related matters; and
  • Effective client management and successful client acquisition/new business development.

Salary Range


Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $85,000 to $135,000 for the Manager position, and $120,000 to $175,000 for the Senior Manager role.
