Gripple Canada Inc. was founded in May 2017 with the same spirit as the Gripple family. The company now has an opportunity for an experienced leader to join in the role of Technical Manager.

What is the role?

Your main responsibilities will be:
Technical

  • Providing highlevel technical advice and assistance to customers, the immediate team, and other areas of the business
  • Managing the commercialization and process implementation of the technical team
  • Maintaining and developing the Canadians contribution to a global technical database
  • Arranging requisite testing through third parties (such as BSRIA and BSI)
  • Reporting on industry, team, and revenue generated performance data for each sixweek sales period for submission and discussion at the Sales Leadership Team
  • Representing the Canadian Team at Gripples New Product Steering Group and other relevant committee meetings to ensure the Sales Leadership Team is kept up to date with new product launches
  • Making key decisions relating to the usage and specification of Gripple products on behalf of customers, with the technical knowledge and ability to evaluate and troubleshoot issues and limitations of design with the technical team
  • Managing approvals and listings
  • Providing technical advice to architects, engineers, Project Managers to secure specifications early in the design process
  • No engineering calculations are required
Sales

  • Understand M&E site installation practices and communicate these to the Canadian team for purposes of furthering the teams wider technical knowledge and sales.
  • Liaise with key customers and decisionmakers to ensure Gripple is specified where appropriate to further the teams selling opportunities
  • Provide the Canadian Drawing Installation Design Service for current and future projects and where possible design installation schemes for contractors/clients, as well as coordinate with external bodies for Seismic projects
  • Visit sites and contractors with ASMs on a regular rolling basis both to give technical assistance and to keep in touch with industry developments
  • The job holder is responsible for supporting the sales team in their efforts to sell a variety of Gripple solutions
Training and DevelopmentMarketing

  • Act as a conduit for the Canadian teams new product development ideas. Filter ideas with the Managing Director and communicate through NPR forms to NPSG in Sheffield
  • Produce Environmental Impact analyses and reports for contractors, clients and marketing purposes
  • Ensure that Gripple published material is technically correct. This will include all printed and web based content
  • Develop and maintain "consultant package" to include drawings and written specifications for inclusion in their "General" and "Particular" job specificiations
Ideas & Innovation

  • Work closely with I&I and the product managers to ensure that developments meet the industry requirements for their intended use
  • Assist with fast track product development

You must also be able to offer the following:

  • A high level of technical and engineering knowledge with an inherent understanding of how to commercialize these skills, with the adaptability and desire to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Relevant qualifications and work experience in a similar environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experienced in 2D & 3D CAD
  • SCIA Engineer, BIM (and specifically Revit), Blue Beam knowledge, seismic calculation and modern methods of construction knowledge are good assets to have.
  • Technical literacy and understanding of product design and testing methodology
  • Knowledge of Canada building regulations, standards, CDM, quality control, commissioning, safety, and enviro
