Salary:
$ $39.070 per hour

Reporting to the Manager of Fracture Clinic, the Orthopaedic Technician is responsible for application and removal of casting in the Fracture Clinic or OR as appropriate, setting up bed traction, suture removal, sterile dressing, maintenance of orthopaedic supplies and other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:
*Current certification with the Canadian Society of Orthopaedic Technologists (CSOT)
*Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification based on the Ontario Heart and Stroke Standards
*Ability to lift, turn, transfers patients manually and with mechanical aids, using the Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention Policy and Procedures
*Ability to wear personal protective equipment as regulated
*Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations
*Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community
*Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgment
*Ability to perform the essential duties of the position

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and
OPSEULocal 348.

Successful applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
