Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Director Operations, this position is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the slots operation on a shift basis while establishing and contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Assists with the planning and directing of slot operations strategic plans.

Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and provides a learning environment, while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.

Develops performance objectives and delivers performance evaluations for direct reports. Implements all new slot operations initiatives as directed. Actively participates in the recruitment and hiring process.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to slot operations at the site level; develop performance objectives and delivers performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Upholds exceptional Guest Services at all times.
  • Implement slot operations strategic plans with regards to the budget.
  • Assists in overseeing slot technical department, slot data systems (SDS) and changes to slot floor plan (if applicable).
  • Assist in developing slot operation promotions.
  • Review revenue and labour reports; makes recommendations on opportunities for efficiencies.
  • Resolves customer disputes; reports irregularities, disputes and suspicious activities; reviews and prepares CSR Incident Reports.
  • Prepare and submits slots reports.
  • Develop and maintains strong working relationship with BCLC.
  • Monitors slot team members for procedural compliance and address all deficiencies through proper corrective action in a timely manner.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
  • Develop and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders, guests, and employees.
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
  • Manages other initiatives as required.

Education and Qualifications

  • A thorough knowledge of all GCC slot procedures and equipment.
  • Experience in Slot Operations Management
  • Ability to successfully obtain Gaming Worker tag through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
  • Excellent customer relations, staff relations and administrative skills
  • Able to lead a very busy environment, treating others in a respectful and courteous manner.
  • Able to manage a large variety of projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Proven leadership, managerial and motivational skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills working with MS Office programs
  • The flexibility to perform duties at the highest level in a constantly changing, exciting and evolving machine gaming business.

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular casino environment, standing for long periods of time, some exposure to noise, some exposure to verbal abuse, nontraditional work hours weekends and nights required.
