The Communication and Marketing Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategic communication and marketing initiatives to enhance the visibility and impact of our charity.

This position requires a creative and dynamic individual who has a passion for content creation, excellent writing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across various platforms.


This position requires a creative and dynamic individual who can craft compelling content that enhances our brand, engages diverse audiences, effectively communicates our mission, drives fundraising efforts through innovative marketing campaigns, and recruits dedicated volunteers to support our programs.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication and marketing plans aligned with the PALS's goals.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure cohesive messaging and branding.

Content Creation:

  • Produce highquality content for various channels including social media, website, newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials.
  • Create compelling stories and case studies that highlight the charity's impact.

Social Media Management:

  • Manage and grow the charity's social media presence across platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Develop engaging social media campaigns and monitor their effectiveness through analytics.

Media Relations:

  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets.
  • Prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and coordinate interviews.

Digital Marketing:

  • Oversee the charity's website content and updates.
  • Implement SEO strategies to increase online visibility and engagement.

Event Promotion:

  • Promote and market fundraising events, community outreach programs, and other charity activities.
  • Develop marketing collateral and coordinate logistics for events.

Brand Management:

  • Ensure consistent branding across all communication materials.
  • Maintain and update branding guidelines as necessary.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze the performance of communication and marketing efforts.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to the leadership team to inform future strategies.

Volunteer Recruitment

  • Develop and execute strategies to recruit, retain, and engage volunteers.
  • Create compelling volunteer recruitment campaigns and materials.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably within the non-profit sector.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and content management systems (CMS).
  • Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
