About the Role

  • Location: ALS Environmental, Edmonton
  • Reports to: Client Services Manager
  • Responsible for sample login activities, shipping, receiving, sample pickup, and handling
  • Receive and organize samples, verify client information, enter data into systems, and ship bottle orders

Specific Responsibilities

  • Follow health, safety, and environment regulations
  • Receive work orders and layout samples
  • Enter information into LIMS
  • Maintain communication with lab staff
  • Shipping/receiving duties
  • Complete bottle orders, track orders
  • Adhere to procedures and policies
  • Transport samples, heavy lifting may be required
  • Identify and resolve problems
  • Follow SOP and QA/QC requirements
  • Observe safety regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Intermediate English communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Well organized with ability to meet deadlines
  • Process oriented and ability to think critically
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment is an asset
  • Knowledge of science and laboratory safety is an asset
  • Experience working with chemicals or in a lab setting is an asset

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs./23 kg
  • Manual dexterity for tasks
  • Ability to stand for a full shift
  • Exposure to unpleasant fumes
  • May require day, afternoon, and graveyard shifts including weekends
