United Hatzalah

United Hatzalah is the largest independent, non-profit, fully volunteer Emergency Medical Service organization that provides the fastest and free emergency medical first response throughout Israel. United Hatzalah's service is available to all people regardless of race, religion, or national origin. United Hatzalah has more than 7,000 volunteers in Israel, available around the clock – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. With the help of our unique GPS technology and our iconic 'ambucycles', our average response time is less than 3 minutes across the country and 90 seconds in metropolitan areas. Our mission is to arrive at the scene as soon as possible and provide the patient with professional and appropriate medical aid until an ambulance arrives, resulting in many more lives saved.​ United Hatzalah Canada's mission is to support and enhance the work of United Hatzalah.

The Position

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Toronto working with the United Hatzalah Canada team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the Executive Director and the core operations of the organization. This includes managing the United Hatzalah Canada team and working closely and collaborating with other functions such as the Donations Processing and Office Manager to ensure the accurate, timely and efficient processing and receipting of donations and the successful execution of all events.

Leading Operations

Run overall internal operations and support general organization needs Assist with the preparation and management of financial budgets Improving and maintaining board governance Ensuring overall CRA and legal compliance Support staff development, hiring, onboarding and offboarding Identify and source technical needs/solutions Manage professional service providers, including legal, accounting and bookkeeping Review expenses and track budgeting Review and negotiate material contracts Designing data collection/organization methods and extracting insights from data Develop and implement strategic vision and strategic initiatives Collaborate with other UH offices

Fundraising Initiatives and Donor Relations

Assist in the cultivation of new opportunities to generate fundraising Engage, cultivate, solicit and steward donors and donor prospects Support campaign development, implementation, and execution Create and cultivate donor appreciation initiatives for donor retention Prepare fundraising materials along with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator Maintain donation records, generate reports, and extract insights from data Ensure the tracking and fulfillment of various pledges and donation activities and accurate and timely receipting acknowledgement Leverage data and financial reports to establish fundraising goals and targets Oversee processes to ensure updated and accurate donor information and record keeping is maintained Oversee databases to identify and monitor donor activity and report on goals and metrics

Community Events and Engagement

Design fundraising partnerships Cultivate volunteer leaders, community opportunities, and personal fundraising campaigns Promote events Act as an ambassador to for UHC and liaison with the general community

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 10 or more years' work experience with strategy/operations, fundraising, relationship management, and event management Experience with non-profit sector Strong computer capabilities, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM Familiarity with CRA compliance Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills Strong critical thinking skills, ability to innovate and creatively problem solve Ability to take initiative, prioritize, and multitask
