Position: Electrical Engineering Technologist

Location: Edmonton, AB

Job Description and Responsibilities
  • Review wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications for repair, installation, and inspection tasks.
  • Analyze circuits, diagrams, and drawings to work on electronic systems and devices.
  • Plan procedures, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment.
  • Respond to troubleshooting calls.
  • Design and construct component parts.
  • Inspect, repair, and replace parts on electronic devices.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on electronic equipment.
  • Test and adjust equipment for proper operation.
  • Install and maintain communication cables.
  • Perform power cable splices.
  • Conduct inspections, repairs, and installations at various locations.
  • Ensure safety precautions are followed during work.
  • Apply electrical and electronic principles in work tasks.
  • Fabricate parts using appropriate tools.
  • Work in both shop and field environments.
  • Maintain equipment records.
  • Adhere to safety regulations.
  • Interpret ladder logic PLC programs.
Requirements
  • Degree from a recognized Electrical Engineering Technology program.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role or 4 years' experience in an industrial setting.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in pipe manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with OH&S regulations and safety standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
  • Available for Afternoon shift (3:00-11:00 PM).
  • Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician certification.
