Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

The Opportunity: We're searching for an Actuarial Analyst or Associate to join our Savings and Retirement Finance and Actuarial Team. This position will have the opportunity to learn about the products within the Savings and Retirement line of business and will play a key role in supporting the related pricing responsibilities.

What you will be doing:

  • Support pricing of Savings & Retirement's products, which includes Guaranteed Interest Accounts (GIAs), Payout Annuities, Pre-need Funeral and Segregated Funds.
  • Participate in providing projections of actuarial reserves, cash flows, capital requirements, business plan under guidance
  • Aid in pricing of new products and review current products under guidance to ensure they are priced competitively and adequately
  • May be involved in special quote support
  • Conduct experience studies to review actuarial assumptions
  • Make recommendations on process improvements


What you will bring:

  • Near or at ASA or ACIA designation, with commitment to achieve the FCIA designation
  • Ability to work with people from different departments
  • Strong focus on collaboration with excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Access, and VBA skills
  • Experience using AXIS and Datalink
  • Knowledge of wealth products would be an asset
  • Knowledge of IFRS 9 and IFRS 17 would be an asset
