Reporting to the Director, in this role, you will:

  • Lead all aspects of the operations performed in the facility to ensure daily SLA's are achieved and align actions with the organizational goals
  • Identify and execute new opportunities and innovative solutions to further support sustainable business growth, client satisfaction and profitability
  • Support pricing initiatives/requests and support client onboarding
  • Provide input and support for operational capability in new business opportunities
  • Propose solutions, processes and ideas that will result in more efficient production and reduction in costs
  • Executes on CI / Get Lean initiatives to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit.
  • Prepare/ manage operations budget and responsible for P&L accountability at the operating level to meet profit targets
  • Invest time in the development of staff and teams, through coaching and mentoring; elicits cooperation and engagement through persuasion rather than authority
  • Maximize productivity by effectively allocating available resources to successfully process the daily work volume
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing and dock activities and employees performance
  • Ensure shipment and inventory transaction accuracy.
  • Effectively communicate all pertinent information regarding process changes, goals & objectives, and operational results to employees through daily shift meetings
  • Comprehend and administer all relevant policies and procedures in a fair & consistent manner
  • Handson direction of all activities to ensure customer and corporate requirements are met
  • Ensure 100% adherence to SCI's Quality Principals and Account specific standard operating procedures
  • Ensure Health and Safety practices are adhered to (e.g. coach team members on safe work practices, enforce company policies and procedures, and serve as a positive role model with respect to safe work practices)
  • Provide daily updates on receiving, shipping, issues, and projects
  • Flexible working hours and scheduling is a requirement

We are looking for a team member that has:

  • Post-secondary education and/or a combination of relevant experience and education
  • Minimum 5 years of manager experience or similar, preferably in a distribution environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with ability to develop and mentor team members
  • Previous experience using SAP and warehouse management systems; Logfire and TruckMate experience preferred
  • Strong service quality experience with specific measures and accomplishments
  • Proven experience in developing positive employee relations with an emphasis on creating a collaborate team environment
  • Ability to analyze, plan and manage resources effectively
  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
