Working at CEM, you will stretch your creative and analytical abilities while participating in the growth of a headline-making business.Our OpportunityAs a Senior Research Associate, you will lead custom research projects on behalf of our clients, industry associations and our own desire to move the industry forward. You will be responsible for gathering relevant data, distilling key insights, and presenting actionable findings. Utilizing strong leadership and project management skills, you will independently form project teams and oversee the coordination and research aspects of Custom Research projects.Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage project teams, overseeing scope, client interactions, and collaboration with external partners.
  • Scope custom research projects in the pension and investment industry.
  • Conduct in-depth industry research, including client and peer interviews, to provide both qualitative understanding and hard data for comprehensive insights.
  • Dive deep into project universes, going beyond surface-level data to uncover meaningful insights.
  • Using leadership and project management skills, leverage internal support and resources effectively for research projects.
  • Creatively translate quantitative data into compelling narratives that demonstrate its relevance to clients' specific situations.
  • Apply strong quantitative problem-solving skills to understand the underlying reasons behind data trends and make logical inferences.
  • Present research findings to clients in a manner that combines quantitative data with insightful anecdotes, providing valuable insights for their objectives.
You Bring:
  • A personal desire to make a difference in the financial well-being of pensioners.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting industry research, client interviews, and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong judgement to be able to take initiative and work independently.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate research hypotheses, methodologies, and findings in white papers and presentations, with the ability to provide citations to past research.
  • Strong project management skills and previous experience in leading and managing research projects, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Additional assets including:
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, investments and pension industry.
  • PhD or advanced degree in Math, Science or other relevant field.
  • Experience in consulting.
