GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Liaison between office and field operations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES OF THE JOB:

  • Reviews and takes necessary action for all telephone requests from customers and field crew whenever the sales personnel are out of the office or whenever the division manager requires assistance for same.
  • Assigns all labor to projects after coordinating with the sales personnel/construction division personnel. Maintains accurate labor and productivity schedules on all active jobs.
  • Prepares and issues job instructions.
  • Maintains weekly job schedule in absence of the sales personnel.
  • Attends weekly job schedule meetings and reports crew and schedule to meeting chairperson.
  • Performs field duties including any of the following: onsite coordination, safety supervision and time keeping.
  • Makes job site visits to inspect safety and construction procedures, crew balance and job efficiency; job site cleanups; review schedule, equipment usage, reference drawings, material inventory, reports, and crew morale.
  • Coordinates communication with customers in absence of sales personnel.
  • Prepares requests for estimates and coordinates with the estimating department to establish crew size and production rates for each project in assigned territory.
  • Confirms all agreements in writing per the Company's established written standards.
  • Follows up on all outstanding proposals in absence of sales personnel and reports on status of quotation.
  • Makes sales calls as directed by the division manager.
  • Prepares and issues observation reports in accordance with current policy.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Participates in training and educational programs as requested or required by the division manager.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Must be able to follow prescribed office policies and procedures and obey all safety rules. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information.

Report to work in a neat and well-groomed appearance to ensure a good corporate image and represent the Company in a professional manner at all times.

Able to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned. Must possess a valid driver's license.

EDUCATION:
Associate's Degree with 3 years' experience, or High School Diploma with 5 years' construction and estimating related experience.

SKILLS/

EXPERIENCE:

Computer literate; MS projects; familiar with general office procedures; accuracy; ability to make decisions according to policies and procedures; able to maintain working relationships with other employees, vendors, and customers; ability to understand and carry out instructions; ability to handle responsibility with limited supervision; strong interpersonal communications and organizational skills; strong math and science skills required.


EQUIPMENT USED:
Personal computer, telephone, fax, copier, personal protective equipment, jobsite equipment, and safety equipment.

ANTICIPATED ON-THE-JOB TRAINING: 6-12 Months.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Employee will normally be working in an office environment; however, the employee will occasionally be required to take a field assignment with exposure to noise, dust, cold, heat, fumes, chemicals, and other warehouse/construction site hazards.

There is contact with the entire office and field staff and with the general public. Personal protective equipment (i.e., hearing protection, gas masks, breathing apparatus, safety glasses, etc. will be provided by the company) and must be used as required.
