Job Description: QC & PDI Inspector – Active Sites (Richmond Hill to Queensville)

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC & PDI Inspector to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of residential construction projects across multiple active sites, spanning from Richmond Hill to Queensville. As a QC & PDI Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections, managing defect rectification processes, and contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Control Inspections:
  2. Conduct comprehensive quality control inspections of residential units at various stages of construction to ensure compliance with established standards, codes, and regulations.
  3. Identify and document construction defects, non-conformities, and deviations from plans and specifications.
  4. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to address and rectify identified issues promptly.
  5. Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI):
  6. Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of completed residential units to ensure that all features, finishes, systems, and components meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
  7. Create detailed reports outlining any deficiencies and communicate with relevant teams for timely resolution.
  8. Documentation and Reporting:
  9. Maintain accurate and organized inspection records, photographs, and reports for each site visit and inspection performed.
  10. Generate clear and concise reports highlighting inspection findings, recommended actions, and follow-up plans.
  11. Quality Assurance Support:
  12. Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure all construction activities align with quality assurance guidelines.
  13. Offer expert advice on quality improvement strategies and best practices to enhance overall construction quality.
  14. Defect Management and Resolution:
  15. Monitor and track the progress of defect rectification activities, ensuring timely completion and satisfactory resolution of identified issues.
  16. Verify that corrective actions have been taken to address any identified defects before final handover.
  17. Communication and Collaboration:
  18. Foster strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, including construction, design, engineering, and customer service departments.
  19. Effectively communicate inspection findings, quality concerns, and improvement recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
  20. Continuous Improvement:
  21. Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices related to quality control and construction inspection.
  22. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your expertise and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control inspections and/or pre-delivery inspections within the residential construction industry.Thorough understanding of residential construction standards, building codes, and regulations.Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and document defects accurately.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey findings and recommendations.Proficiency in using inspection software, MS Office suite, and digital tools for report generation and documentation.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various active sites across Richmond Hill and Queensville.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple inspections simultaneously.Relevant certifications or qualifications in construction quality control or related fields is a plus.
