Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Position Summary:


Reporting to the Team Lead - Quality this position inspects and validates component parts and completed product for conformance to quality standards defined in Drawings, BOM's, Checksheets and Specification as well as alignment to customer requirements and ISO standards.


Primary/Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform receiving inspection as required.
  • Perform Inprocess and final inspection tasks on all switches and part orders being shipped.
  • Perform internal process/ quality system audits as required, report all findings.
  • Exercise the authority to "shut down" nonconforming processes after notifying Supervisor, Quality Manager and Director Operations.
  • Communicate drawing discrepancies to Engineering.
  • Participate in Customer inspection as needed.
  • Create and assist team members in writing and entering NCRs.
  • Assist in evaluation of nonconforming components, such as conducting dimensional analysis of components to help identify potential issues as needed, material sorting / quarantined / dispositioning.
  • Write CAR/CIIs for audits and assist employees who wish to report a problem requiring corrective action.
  • Report violations of ISO Standards to Quality Manager.
  • Participate in the prototype review process for all newly developed products as needed.
  • Review of supplier documentation including dimensional analysis, certifications, and SPC data.
  • Develop / maintain necessary documentation and assist in the control of documentation.
  • Regularly engage in communication and cooperation with cross functional teams to meet quality standards and shipment deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED in combination of work experience in quality inspection and/or blueprint diagram interpretation and with precision measuring devices.
  • Proven experience in mechanical, electrical, or technical engineering related disciplines.
  • 13 years experience working in a manufacturing environment utilizing drawings and schematics.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, schematics, bills of materials.
  • Solid understanding and experience utilizing measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauge, multimeter and other precision measuring devices.
  • Ability to read, review and create technical documents.
  • Must have attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with subordinates, members of management, suppliers and other employees.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to read and understand wiring and ladder diagram.
  • Knowledgeable in GD&T, Basic Electrical testing, and welding inspection.
  • Experience using ERP systems.

  • Stooping
  • Standing
  • Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less)
  • Heavy Lifting (occasional 25 lbs +)
  • Pushing/pulling between lbs. of force on lever arms during switch inspection on a frequent basis
