The Company:
Jorgensen Land Management Ltd (JLM) was established in 1999, based out of Olds,Alberta.

JLM is an Environmental company focused on Reclamation and Remediation, restoring well sites and associated facilities with a turnkey abandonment site management program.

Activities span across the province presently with a strong presence in all regions of Alberta. JLM is a team of environmental professionals with extensive experience in the petroleum and agriculture industries in

The Position:
We're looking for Environmental Technicians.

That will assist senior consultants primarily with minor surface reclamation and completion of detailed site assessments in the 2023 field season (April - September).

Additionally aid in reporting and data management when not in the field. Main areas of operation for the position will be in central and southern Alberta.

  • Technicians are paid hourly, starting rates will be negotiable and can be increased based on the successful applicant's effectiveness in the field
  • All living expenses are compensated while on a job, by receipt

Requirements:

  • Adept Knowledge of soil classification, properties and soil forming processes
  • Knowledge in agricultural processes
  • Skillful in grassland and forested plant identification
  • Valid Alberta Driver's License and a reliable vehicle that can handle offroad conditions
  • Good physical health with willingness to travel and work in the field for extended periods
  • Be able to obtain all general oil and gas safety tickets (H2S, Ground Disturbance, WHIMIS,First Aid/CPR etc.)
  • Ability to work extended hours outdoors, 1014 days maximum in field locations.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, exemplary interpersonal skills and is very detail oriented and organized
  • Understanding of the upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in Alberta
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, Adobe and other database entry

  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening

Responsibilities (May include but not limited to):

  • Execute scopes of work and cost estimates under the supervision of the Project Manager
  • Completing Detailed Site Assessments (DSA) in cultivated, grassland and forested land uses
  • Supervising contractors in minor surface reclamation activities such as fencing, seeding, and spraying well sites
  • Assist in heavy reclamation activities under a PM or Senior Consultant
  • Assist in wildlife surveys and ground water monitoring programs.
  • Aid in Phase 2 drilling programs and sampling protocols during remediations
  • Precise attention to detail and ability to produce professional quality deliverables on time and on budget
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, directives, and standard operating procedures
  • When not in the field assist in reporting and data analysis retrieved from the field.
  • Implement internal and client safety programs
  • Driving long distances to and from site locations
  • Precise attention to detail and ability to produce professional quality deliverables on time and on budget
  • Effective and detailoriented reporting on all tasks that are completed
  • Completing tasks in a time sensitive manner.
