Vaughan, Ontario, Canada GSCI Advanced Photonics Full time

GSCI, an electro-optical manufacturing company, is looking for a new addition to our assembly team to build their career in a company with 30 years on the market.


  • Building precision electrooptical assemblies in accordance with the assembly instructions
  • Performing tests on subassemblies and finished products
  • Assembling and soldering wires, cables, harnesses
  • Occasional work with drill press, rotary tool, milling machine and other hand and stand tools
  • Basic knowledge in low power electronics (resistors, capacitors, Ohm's and Kirchhoff's laws)
  • Reading electronic schematics
  • Soldering of low power circuits
  • SMT and PTH
  • Measuring electrical current, voltage, resistance, etc.
  • Measuring common dimensions (thickness, diameter of hole and shaft)
  • Reading mechanical drawings
  • Confidence with basic metal/plastic processing (cutting, drilling, threading)
  • Excellent manual dexterity
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking
  • A motivated individual with attention to detail
  • Eager for continuous learning and selfimprovement
  • Excellent, ethically bound team player
  • Excellent attendance

Experience with precision assembly work in the following fields would be considered an asset:

  • Fine mechanics
  • Low power electronics
  • Clean optics

What will be expected:

  • To proactively ensure ontime orders completion
  • To proactively ensure top production quality
  • To master the principles of operation of all products in order to efficiently engage in assembling, and testing

Job Types:

Pay:
$21.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours:
No less than 40.5 per week
