Technician roles and responsibilities:

  • Assist the senior technician during fire alarm and emergency lighting inspections, reports, repairs, and service calls on various makes and models of equipment
  • Surveillance cameras/systems (CCTV) and access control installation, maintenance, and service calls
  • Working on ladders safely, good use of hand tools, various test equipment
  • Driving a vehicle, maintaining a good driving record, and ensuring vehicle maintenance is done as needed
  • Operating a scissor lift
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude

Required Skills:

  • Previous experience not required, a good attitude and strong work ethic is.
  • 1 year of experience as a service technician in the fire alarm or security industry an asset
  • Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) certification or Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician an asset but not required
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs and climb ladders or scaffolding
  • Good computer skills, typing, competence with Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience with Access Control/Burglary/Video Surveillance an asset
Police Information Check and a Drivers Abstract will be required prior to receiving an offer of employment.
