Objective:


We are looking for analytical and agile professionals equipped with both conceptual and practical expertise in business information management and in Financial reporting.

The role will have the responsibility to merge and translate data into technology and business information, serving today's business needs into reporting requirement, dashboards, and financial models.

Development and production of end user reporting solution via Power BI will also be required in order to drive more value from our data for the business.

This role will be critical to the success of how the company uses its information going forward and will be the link between Finance and IT regarding all Finance reports and data needs.

This role, based in Montreal, will report directly to the Vice-President of Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Robust understanding of Finance department needs in terms of reports and the database in order to comprehend mapping user requirements into a BI report. Ability to create and maintain and use complex queries during the development cycle of both data and reporting solutions using different tool but mainly Power BI.
  • Building and facilitating reporting, the ability to create and maintain extracts to support end users will be key to delivering the value of the data solutions. Initial development of dashboards and reports will also be required to showcase the solution and lead adoption efforts.
  • Understand and contribute to the different analytics initiatives in the organization and identify what can be leveraged in finance for decision making.
  • Develop & maintain reporting solutions to consolidate and consume all key metrics and analytics insight for and within the financial organization up to the CFO level
  • Participate in different projects and implementation activities including discovery, design, configuration, documentation, testing, and project review sessions related to data conversion activities and reporting needs
  • Contribute to specific ongoing analytics projects
  • Work with both the tech and business teams to understand data and analysis needs internally.
  • Develop data transformations, including and not limited to archiving and cleaning data, integrating data from multiple sources and adding business rules.
  • Participate in the selection and use of appropriate data visualization tools, programs and techniques to generate dashboards, reports and presentations that tell a story
  • Oversee the quality of reporting data and carry out data profiling.
  • Integrate security principles and standards and be responsible for data governance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance)
- financial and business acumen in retail will be critical to translating financial reporting requirements into reporting solutions

  • 5+ years experience data management experience and experience implementing enterprise solutions, working with senior business and finance leaders and IT, in an international company
  • Expertise in using analytical software tools, MS Office and Power BI
  • Experience in leading analytics transformation across finance with knowledge of leading trends and best practices in big data and data science
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to connect the dots and tell stories using data
  • Selfstarter, selfmotivated and enthusiastic leader with good business sense
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
