Summary of Duties:


The successful applicant will provide an advanced level and wide variety of administrative and secretarial functions with mínimal supervision for the Corporate Resource Team and Central staffing Office.

The position requires an individual with an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with strong organizational and prioritization skills and an ability to work independently.

A demonstrated commitment to customer service is essential. The office has relationships internally with Patient Care Managers across the hospital to support staffing services.
Liaises independently with various contacts and stakeholders to enhance and foster positive working relationships; welcomes and attends to visitors
Assists in the preparation of presentations, agendas, minute taking/transcription, weekly payroll, and financial responsibilities for the department
Coordinates and/or organizes various activities, special events and formal/informal meetings
Maintains office systems to deal efficiently with paper flow
Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing
Other duties assigned as necessary

Qualifications/Skills:

Completion of a relevant post-secondary Administrative Assistant/Office Management Program and/or equivalent appropriate work experience required
Undergraduate degree preferred
Previous related work experience in an administrative position (ideally in health care) required
Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Typing speed of 60 words per minute
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and act independently using sound judgment as well as accepting direction
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience taking minutes required
Excellent time management skills; attention to detail; the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency
Ability to work independently and balance multiple work demands, including time sensitive requests
Good inter-personal skills and ability to relate to and work well with a diverse group of individuals
Tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues
Desire and ability to take on new and added responsibilities
Must have maintained satisfactory attendance standards
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
