There is one Full-Time Permanent Program Supervisor position available starting on May 27, 2024, Working 37.5 hours per week.

Your Role:


Participates in designing, planning, implementing, and assessing the therapeutic program environment and supervises the youth work staff's implementation of the program.

Supports the sustainability of Benjamin Road treatment model and approach. Provides oversight of operations within the live-in and day-treatment programs at Benjamin Road. Provides leadership and case consultation for youth and programs.

Builds, implements, and fosters safe spaces to host brave conversations for learning and imbedding anti-racist, anti-oppressive practices, within team environment.

Follows through on commitments to build an environment of trust and accountability.

Tasks:

Program Implementation:

  • Assists in creating a work climate conducive to effective treatment that encourages innovation, creativity, learning and safety.
  • Coordinates support services with community agencies to ensure effective and efficient treatment for clients.
  • In consultation with the Manager, monitors wait lists and conducts preadmission site visits.
  • Ensures compliance with respective legislation including the Youth Criminal Justice Act, Child and Family Services Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, License and Accreditation standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring Acting Shift Coordinator function is assigned and supports with emergency and/or urgent issues when on site. Ensures A.S.C. is assigned when not available.
  • Participates in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Liaises with clients, families, Mental Health Services staff, community agencies, and relevant ministries, providing information and ensuring continuity and effectiveness of treatment.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings including staff meetings, treatment team meetings, case conferences, plans of care, family meetings, treatment planning, and program review ensuring continuity and effectiveness of the program.
  • Provides various case coordination and team facilitation functions as assigned.
  • Responsible for Youth Justice Provincial Director duties including Level of Detention Assessments (LODAs), as needed.

Supervision:

  • Responsible for screening, interviewing, and hiring new team/department members in consultation with the Manager and Human Resources Department.
  • Responsible for providing or ensuring initial training and orientation is provided to all new direct reports as assigned.
  • Responsible for conducting monthly supervision/performance coaching meetings with all direct reports.
  • Provides leadership and support to employees within the area(s) of responsibility.
  • Implements responsive leadership tools and strategies to support employees, including liaising with HR on employee accommodations and concerns.
  • Responsible for completing preferred leadership profiles with all new direct reports.
  • Responsible for the administration of probationary/annual performance reviews and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for training and development of staff within the area(s) of responsibility, including Lutherwood & Benjamin Rd policies, and specific legislative requirements.
  • Involved in disciplinary and termination decisions and actions in consultation with the Manager, Director and Human Resources Department.
  • Acts as a resource, direct and oncall support for program staff to ensure effective problem solving, communication, goal setting, adherence to agency policy and legislative requirements, and integration of Benjamin Road Treatment Model.
  • Acts as a resource and liaison with other programs, service delivery partners and contractors, ensuring mutually beneficial relationships and operational needs are met.
  • Develops and monitors an effective pool of relief staff.
  • Oversees task assignment, completion, and workload distribution for assigned employees.
