At Sandstone, we're focused on helping clients improve their relationship with food and their bodies. We're seeking a skilled dietitian to assist our eating disorder client community. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of eating disorders and deliver personalized nutrition counseling to clients and their families. Responsibilities include leading group nutrition education sessions, collaborating with the treatment team to create tailored meal plans, and regularly assessing client progress to adjust treatment plans accordingly.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough nutritional assessments with clients and families, including diet histories and establishing healthy weight ranges.
  • Provide individualized treatment plans for clients with eating disorders.
  • Offer nutritional psychoeducation and support to parents and caregivers.
  • Emphasize the importance of nutrition for both physical and mental well-being.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team and maintain detailed client records.
  • Assist clients in developing coping strategies for stress and triggers.
  • Promote body positivity, self-acceptance, and address food-related fears.
  • Aid in creating meal plans that meet clients' nutritional requirements.
  • Support transition planning for clients returning home or moving to different care levels.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) certification
  • Understanding of eating disorder causes and treatments
  • Preferably 2+ years of mental health experience, including working with eating disorders
  • Experience leading groups and conducting individual assessments is a plus
  • Familiarity with evidence-based eating disorder treatments and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • This role is based in Alberta
