What you'll do:

Reporting to the Grocery Manager
, the Head Cashier is responsible for:

  • Live our brand, "You're at Home Here" by presenting a positive, collaborative, and professional image of the organization to all customers, visitors, suppliers, and team members.
  • Exemplify our company values: People, Integrity, Excellence, and Responsibility.
  • Train, supervise staff, and demonstrate leadership in the proficient operation of a checkout.
  • Operate a cash register, take payment from customers, and provide change.
  • Follow all legal requirements regarding the sale of lottery products.
  • Supervise and assist in the ordering and stocking of confectionary lines, tobacco products (where applicable), magazines (including handling returns) and checkout supplies.
  • Educate customers and staff on the benefits of membership in Clearview Coop and encourage them to join.
  • Prepare daily reports and cash reconciliations as required.
  • Present a neat, clean, wellmerchandised department and related work areas (checkout areas and nearby displays).
  • Follow safe frontline loss prevention practices and maintain a constant alert against unauthorized removal of merchandise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
