EHP Financial Controller


Reporting to the General Manager, the Controller will be responsible for monthly financial reporting and reconciliations, overseeing the flow and accuracy of daily transactions, integrating divisional financial results into the overall accounting system and various analysis and project work.


  • Preparing financial statements and other financial reporting.
  • Reconciling and analyzing financial results, including sales, gross profit overhead and variance analysis.
  • Preparing journal entries and month end, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Foreign currency transactions.
  • Statistical reporting of key performance indicators.
  • Preparing year end audit working papers and schedules.
  • Budget preparation and analysis.
  • Providing backup information for provincial tax and other audits.
  • Inventory control
  • Management of the corporate vehicle fleet.
  • Review and analysis of financial records to assist with third party company acquisitions.
  • Providing management reports identifying opportunities for growth, efficiency and time and cost savings.
  • Review, analysis, and approval of expense reports (Concur)
  • Training and mentoring new branch office / regional accounts team members.
  • Liaising between branches and head office for all financial related issues
  • Identifying and implementing efficiencies to the organization's overall financial administration.
  • Completed CPA Designation.
  • 35 years of relevant experience acquired after receiving CPA designation.
  • Leadership and management experience are considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail with an interest in process improvement.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with a comprehensive understanding of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to prioritize and multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in a sales or manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Corporate tax knowledge.
  • Desire to advance within the organization by taking on increasingly challenging tasks as well as supervisory functions.
  • An ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
