We are looking for a Director of Services to join our team

Permanent, Full-time, 35 Hours per Week, Evening Hours and Weekends may be required

The CMHA home office for this role is Aurora, located at 15150 Yonge Street, Suite 201, Aurora, Ontario, L4G 1M2.

However, this can change as operations require and the incumbent may be required to travel to other CMHA Offices in York Region and South Simcoe as required.


Job Profile:

The Director of Services provides overall support and management of programs and services offered by CMHA.

In this role, you will participate as a member of the leadership team and will be responsible for identifying, establishing, and developing community services.

The Director will lead program development and innovation for assigned program areas. The Director will explore best practices in service delivery and lead change management strategies for continuous quality improvement.

This position will engage communities to build a strong mental health and addiction system in York Region and South Simcoe.

They will contribute to the agency's corporate management agenda by providing strong strategic leadership for all aspects of mental health services.

The Director of Services will work in strategic collaboration with the leadership team, to drive performance, sustain high levels of employee engagement, and develop and sustain a leadership culture across the organization that aligns with and achieves the agency's strategy, mission, vision, and values.


In addition to compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, the Director is also expected to behave ethically, demonstrate competence in effective communication and team building, demonstrate effectiveness in working in a collaborative environment, and demonstrate confidence in decision-making and building relationships.


Requirements:

  • Professional Registration with a Regulatory Body is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a comparable or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and engage in executing strategic change.
  • Extensive experience cultivating diverse networks and leading community outreach initiatives, leveraging the diversity of people and thinking to create innovative solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in serving marginalized populations.
  • Extensive management and leadership experience at a senior level accountable for multiple programs.
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector, ideally in health or mental health.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • A second language (Cantonese, Farsi, Italian, Korean, Mandarin, Punjabi, Russian, Tamil, Urdu) reflecting the local community is an asset.
  • A valid Canadian driver's license, a minimum of $1,000,000 thirdparty liability insurance.
