Remote-Based Construction Manager Position

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for construction management of projects focusing on lighting, water fixture, and mechanical/electrical retrofits.
  • Determines resource levels to reach schedule milestones and monitors workforce levels to ensure compliance with the construction plan.
  • Controls change/scope creep, ensures proper documentation of all scope changes and approval of change orders before work commences.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer and subcontractor relationships.
  • Works closely with local contracting communities and industry organizations, networking with local subcontractors.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction by completing projects accurately, on-time, within budget, and scope while ensuring profitability goals.
  • Works under general supervision and collaborates with the Project Delivery Manager.
  • Must be on-site at least 2 days bi-weekly with possible higher on-site presence as needed.

How You Will Do It

  • Performs cost estimating, project scheduling, and construction management.
  • Plans, develops project schedules, controls project activities, and oversees project construction compliance.
  • Reviews design scope and approach, escalates issues, and monitors productivity and costs.
  • Relates to customer needs, ensures clear communications, and oversees site safety and security.
  • Assists in project development, provides leadership, and communicates project status effectively.

What We Look For

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Project/Construction Management or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 6 years in Project Management in the construction industry.
  • Experience with commercial contracts, negotiation skills, and managing multi-discipline projects.
  • Demonstrated success in budgeting, accounting, revenue forecasting, and high-level project management competencies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, and strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to work in a matrix organizational structure.
  • Eligibility for obtaining necessary security clearances within Canada.

Preferred

  • Engineering degree or relevant certifications.
  • Experience in energy retro-fit projects, project management certifications, and estimation skills.
  • Experience managing diverse projects and creating work breakdown structures.
