Psychologists play a key role in improving access to appropriate services now through the provision of consultation, training, and dissemination of evidence based practice to other professionals, and for the future through participation in clinical training and supervision of the next generation of Psychologists within our state of the art psychology training program.
As part of a leading academic health sciences centre, Psychologists partner with persons with lived experience, research scientists and inter-professional staff to lead clinically-oriented research that will identify new avenues for care.
The Integrated Schizophrenia Recovery Program offers evidence based services consistent with HQO standards to clients with Schizophrenia and other psychotic spectrum symptoms at all stages of their recovery journey, in inpatient, outpatient, day treatment, and recovery settings.
Psychologists in ISRP work in an interprofessional team in collaboration with Psychiatry, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Dietary and Spiritual Care staff.
Client care is centered in a trauma-informed, culturally-competent approach and addresses the social determinants of health, stigma, discrimination and social justice.
Duties:
- Provide evidence based psychological assessment for differential diagnosis
- Plan, Develop, Deliver and Monitor Outcomes of Evidencebased individual and group interventions consistent with Health Quality Ontario standards for Schizophrenia (e.g., CBT for Psychosis), and evidence based interventions for common cooccurring mental health symptoms, including for persons dually diagnosed, among inpatient and outpatient clients.
- Practice Measurement Based Care (progress monitoring and outcome evaluation) to inform treatment decisions, enhance client outcomes and support quality improvement initiatives
- Provide professional peer consultation to members of other disciplines to support the implementation of evidence based practices, and measure outcomes
- Provide withinservice training to program staff consistent with the program's mandate and client and family needs
- Develop and oversee Program Evaluation initiatives consistent with program's objectives and the Royal's strategic goals, including integration of lived experience, and/or,
- Design, implement, analyze, interpret, and publish clinically oriented research, consistent with program objectives and the Royal's strategic goals, including integration of lived experience
- Provide direction and oversight to Program Evaluation coordinators
- Participate in training activities, including teaching and supervision of predoctoral Psychology residents and practicum students, nonregistered Psychology staff as well as medical residents
- Function as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Liaise and consult with relevant community agencies and service providers.
- Demonstrate professional integrity through adherence to college and hospital guidelines for the practice of psychology, including; adherence to the Canadian Code of Ethics for psychologists, adherence to College of Psychologists of Ontario guidelines for registration, professional practice, professional development, supervision, communications and documentation of client contacts, as well as adherence to The Royal's policies on timely completion of documentation and workload measurement

Qualifications:
- Doctorate from a CPA/APA Accredited Psychology Program.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
