Job Overview

Reporting to the Manager Operations Business Readiness, Theincumbent will be responsible for in-depth analysisand rollout to the business of all system enhancements, regulatory changes, processupdates, and new client onboarding related to the successful transition fromidea to project to production deployment.

The successful individual will be requiredto show an aptitude for learning, taking initiative and identifying areas forprocess improvements.

What You Will Do

Liaise with businesspartners within and outside of Business Operations to complete an in-depthreview and analysis of all initiatives impacting Business Operations Teams: Up to nine internal releases annually (five iFAST and up to four SS&C Chorus BPM releases) Regular system maintenance and upgrades for all system/software used by Trust Accounting, Contact Centre, Tax and Business Operations teams Internal and client initiated enhancements Regulatory updates Internal and Client initiated projects as required Manage end to end UserAcceptance Testing for SS&C Chorus BPM related changes: Review and analysis of the change impact to business operations Test plan documentation Management of test plan execution (includes, design walkthrough and support of testers in conjunction with business partners from SS&C) Represent BusinessOperations as a subject-matter expert on all functions and processes, assistBusiness Analysts and iFast Development teams to define business requirementsfor internal and external client projects. Review Business RequirementDocuments to identify impacts to existing processes, identify risks and providesuggestions and mitigation options. Assist with the gatheringof business requirements for new client onboarding initiatives from the duediligence stage through to onboarding Proactively communicate allinitiatives, changes, enhancements, problem fixes and releases impactingBusiness Operations to the impacted teams. Proactively engage internalbusiness partners in the User Acceptance Testing team as required for testingof system enhancements and fixes. Proactively engage theBusiness Operations Learning and Development team to review trainingneeds. Assist with the preparationof training materials and documentation as required. Support/Lead the ProjectManagement of small scale projects impacting one or more Business Operationsteam(s) Host the weekly BusinessOperations Change Committee meeting and support change owners plan and executethe roll out of each change as needed. Support tracking and reporting ofchanges raised in the committee. Participate in clientmeetings as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Post-secondary education in a related discipline 5-10 years of experience in the Canadian mutual fund industry Solid understanding of Canadian mutual fund industry regulations, taxation and, best practices Ability to work independently to set priorities and meet deadlines while managing multiple, concurrent projects and recurring tasks Demonstrates and applies an understanding of project frameworks, lifecycles, and project management concepts, techniques, tools, and best practices. Strong research/information gathering/analytical/problem-solving skills - takes a logical approach to analyzing problems. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing Comfortable presenting to peers, senior leaders and clients Team Player, able to work in a team environment with shared goals and accountabilities Ability to identify the business impact and evaluate risks associated with changes Knowledge of iFAST Base system, iFAST Base & Surround Products Proactive in acquiring information to develop new skills to improve job performance. Grasps new material quickly and easily, and applies new information, concepts and procedures in a constructive manner Initiates new ideas and solutions to regulatory and business issues as well as in regards to process improvement issues Intermediate-Advanced MS Excel, Familiarity with Fundserv processing and reporting Familiarity with software development lifecycle Familiarity with Tableau, Frontier, Paybase, Finesse

Beneficial:

IFIC Operations and Procedures course or equivalent is an asset Familiarity with Segregated Funds is an asset

Working Conditions

IFDS employees are working from home with one day per week work from office, however applicants must be flexible and adaptable to return to the office full time as directed by the management/organization.
