Camrose, Canada OSCAR Child Care Full time

Licensed After School Care Program, OSCAR Child Care, a program of Camrose & District FCSS is seeking a dynamic individual to provide Admin Support to the Director and Assistant Director of the Pre-School & OSCAR programs, as well working directly with the OSC children at a program location. The position will require direct child care at a program in the afternoon. There will be multiple office skills from data entry to building with planning, implantation and supervision of the summer program. This person will require Alberta Child Care Certification of a Level 2 or 3 and be able to work a 25-28-hour week, with most school breaks off, except the 7 week summer program. The hours for the morning are flexile, the OSC Program is 2:30-6:00pm. Summer program shifts vary from 7:30am to 5:45pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and foster the mission, goals and guiding principles of CDFCSSA
  • Adhere to licensing requirements of the Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Act & Regulations, while implementing the policy and procedures as you build on the knowledge of Best Practices that enhances our Excellence in Quality Child Care while working as a team in group settings
  • Develop the children's prosocial, leadership, and life skills through role modeling and direct teaching according to the children's abilities and interests
  • Communicate effectively, work in a team, have a sense of humor, be creative, energetic, resilient and flexible
  • Maintain a healthy lifestyle, role model for the children and families, and engage in professional development

General Competencies:

  • Effective interpersonal planning and organizational skills, exhibiting a generally positive approach and a high degree of personal initiative
  • Knowledge of Office software, and Google forms; with Share Vision knowledge an asset
  • Able to work cooperatively in a team contributing to the sharing of knowledge
  • Experience with children ages 3 to 12 and knowledge of developmental needs
  • Able to work diverse individuals and families in a positive, effective manner
  • Empathetic and aware of individual's needs; exhibits recognition of their needs with the ability to work as a team player to implement positive outcomes for participants;
  • Is creative; can generate new ideas and methods for program enhancement and adjust to changing work and community environments;
  • Is flexible in terms of work hours while striving to maintain a balance between work, and family
- willing to engage in ongoing personal and professional development in related areas as appropriate and feasible.

Requirements:

  • Alberta Child Care Certification: Early Childhood Educator, Level 2 or Level
  • Intervention Record Check (IRC) and Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector both dated within 6 months of commencement date and updated every 3 years
  • First Aid and CPR Certification, kept current
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
