From our humble beginnings in 1951 as a group of mothers going door-to-door collecting dimes in support of polio research, March of Dimes Canada has grown into a national, multi-service not-for-profit organization.

We work for people with disabilities and seniors, helping them with daily living, rehabilitation, and employment.

What does the Community Support Services team do?


Our Community Support Services team, which is primarily funded by governments, provides essential services that enable people to live as independently as possible.

Whether the disability is physical, cognitive or the result of brain injury or aging, our team of 1,600 employees assists people in their homes and communities, helping them gain a greater level of functioning and connection with others.

Over the past year, the number of people we serve rose to more than 6,100 people.

This Opportunity


We are currently looking to fill one full time position for a Rehabilitation Worker in our Post Stroke Transitional Care Program (35 Hours per week) - Sault Ste.

Marie, ON.

Duties include the following:

  • Implement individualized support services plans within the home and/or community for adults with a stroke
  • Provide services on a flexible basis during weekday business hours
  • Reporting responsibilities including daily log note recording, develop service plans, and verbal reports as required
  • Participate in training as required
  • Follow policies and procedures as required

Background / Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary diploma in Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant program preferred or diploma in Human or Social Services
  • Minimum of three years' experience in Human Services field and/or working with people with a stroke
  • Current CPR, First Aid is an asset
  • Access to vehicle to use for business and valid driver's license
  • Proven consistency in work performance, including reliability and flexibility
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Sound problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to work independently / autonomously
