The Opportunity

The Marine Crew Coordinator is responsible for overseeing recruitment, training and management of the floatel vessel marine crew, including deck and engine officers, ratings, and other personnel.


Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the HR Generalist, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Managing the recruitment and selection process for marine crew members
  • Ensuring that all marine crew members are properly licenses and certified to work onboard the vessel and under the appropriate flagship
  • Developing and implementing training programs for new and existing crew members
  • Conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to crew members
  • Managing crew scheduling and rotations to ensure adequate coverage and compliance with labour regulations
  • Coordinating with other departments such as hotel operations and shore excursions to ensure smooth ship operations
  • Ensuring that all crew members adhere to company policies and regulations
  • Developing and managing budgets for the marine department, including crew salaries and benefits, training and equipment maintenance
  • Participating in emergency response and crisis management efforts as needed
  • Maintaining accurate records of crew members activities, such as hours worked and training completed
  • Provide recommendations and feedback to senior management on ways to improve crew morale and retention

Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in maritime studies or experience in marine operations in a related field
  • Strong leaderships and management skills
  • Thorough understanding of marine industry and seafarer regulations
  • Understanding of seafarer regulations specific to applicable flagship
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills
  • Fluent communication in English
