Job description

Broadband Maintenance Inc. is a Telecommunication Construction Company in the Ottawa and surrounding area. We are actively seeking experienced Linemen to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints or job specifications to execute all work assigned safely and in accordance with Broadband Maintenance's health and safety policy.
  • Work outdoors in various conditions to place copper or fibre optic telecommunication cables.
  • Climb poles, ladders, and a variety of construction equipment to assist in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatus.
  • String cables between structures, manholes, from poles, towers, or trenches and ensure that all are to proper tension.
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Accurately record and report project progress to the appropriate supervisory person and communicate any issues or expected delays.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role would be an asset.
  • High school diploma.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license with clean driving record required to operate company vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to lift 80 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb poles and work at heights up to and exceeding 30 feet.
  • Able to complete the necessary training for working at heights and confined space, pass the corresponding examinations and receive a client authorization number.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.

Pay:
$26.00-$32.00 per hour
