Job Description:


The Electronics/Electrical Engineering Manager will be primarily responsible for the design of hardware and firmware for Client's Products Controls Systems including Loading Dock and Lift products.

Design work on other electronic components may also be undertaken. Additionally lead the Software development team associated with Loading Dock Performance Management (connected controls software).

Experience with PLC's, HMI's, automation and control system design and hands-on troubleshooting as well as provide electrical power equipment support, electrical integration and control support.

Continuous Improvement project management, Engineering Support working within Internal and External agencies and suppliers. Additionally, leading and managing the design team for success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing best practices and Lean practices into design and support tasks.
  • Provides Engineering support to mechanical engineering designers, product configuration team, production management, Sales Product Management team, Technical Sales and Technical Support team, and Aftermarket Parts Support team to ensure full product life cycle support of electronics controls products.
  • Combine technical expertise, solid project management skills and the ability to facilitate or lead cross functional teams.
  • Work closely with the operations, engineering and quality groups to provide technical support and be instrumental in ensuring that departmental and plant objectives are met in areas such as Safety and Quality.
  • Complies with Electrical Safety standards and advises Senior management of any needed safety actions required.
  • Will work with external clients to understand requirements and provide help to presales function

Required skills:

  • Experience in Product Management and Hardware design and development
  • Experience with programming in C/C++, Python, VisualBasic, C# required
  • Experience with Development of testing and deployment of embedded products and test equipment
  • Experience with Test processes and Quality Assurance
  • Experience with production support, maintenance or calibration of development
  • Experience with embedded TCP/IP stack preferred
  • Experience with protocols such as I2C SPI UART is required. LIN and CAN experience (automotive) is an asset
  • Experience with code versioning systems is required. GIT experience preferred

  • Able to work off-shifts, weekends & extended shifts (i.e. 12 hrs.)
  • Must possess a high level of mechanical & electrical aptitude and be an effective communicator, mentor, and trainer
  • Effective written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team environment that includes; shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining good working relationships with others to support team and company objectives and a willingness to work in all areas of the facility
  • Strong record of successful troubleshooting skills
  • Prior project management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership, planning, organization, and communication skills
  • Prior experience/interaction with Industrial electronics Industry/manufacturing standards.
  • Ability to work in and with a EPDM (Enterprise Document Management) System
  • Strategic and tactical planning skills vital for success
  • Communicate the product and data architecture to other groups and ensure the adherence and the value-added of enterprise methodologies and standards.
  • Awareness and understanding of data security and privacy
  • Define and promote software and data security standards aligned with security policy
  • Ability to support business case justification using business scenario modeling and perform benefits analysis

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in electronics/software engineering from an accredited university or certificate of completion from a technical program (Electrical/Electronic technology or similar, preferred) with 10 years' experience
  • Experience with product design, team management and standards preferred
  • Ability to travel to the US, Mexico including travel clearance and documents
