We are looking for experienced and knowledgeable yard attendants to join our team and meet the needs of a fast paced, growing company.

Overview and Responsibilities:

Our Inspectors are the heart and soul of our yard. They are responsible for grading and sorting material, in addition to assisting customers with unloading or material inquiries.

We are looking for an experienced yard attendant to add to our team and be a driving force in our delivery service.

The incumbent will report directly to the Operations Manager and play a leading role in day-to-day operations.

This position requires safe and efficient work habits, a working knowledge of both ferrous and non-ferrous metal material and ferrous is considered an asset but not essential.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Experienced in customer service
  • Sorting of various types of scrap metal, both nonferrous and ferrous, for preparation to recycle
  • Grading of incoming material
  • Use of two way radios
  • Build relationships with customers
  • Ability to work safely and independently
  • Safe and efficient use of various hand and power tools
  • Perform minor repairs and upkeep to equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of sorting areas
  • Work outside in a variety of weather conditions


 Knowledge of CAT
  • Front End Loader an asset

Requirements:

  • Experience in scrap and metal recycling is preferred
  • Ability to safely use or be trained in use of various power tools and equipment
  • Working knowledge of ferrous and nonferrous metal materials is an asset but not essential
