JOB PURPOSE:
This position reports to the Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager.
The FSQA Supervisor is responsible for maintaining and managing Conestoga Meats' FSQA, BRC, and HACCP programs to ensure they meet or exceed the standards.
The FSQA Supervisor will focus on maintaining FSQA presence on the production floor to carry out observations, inspections, reviews, analyze any discrepancies, and support rectifying any issues.
This role will also look after facilitating on-going training as required, supervising and directing salary and hourly FSQA employees, supporting the compliance of our BRC program/audits, serving as a customer liaison, and investigating and addressing any customer (internal and external) complaints.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Audit and improve our occupational health and safety programs and initiatives
- Perform, track and communicate audits, inspections and GAP analysis on our current health and safety programs and initiatives for the purpose of continuous improvement
- Engage, communicate and educate the results to leadership ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken for noncompliance
- Follow up to ensure corrective actions and preventative measures are sustained
- Develop the quantity and quality of the current audits
- Ensure the continuous improvement of the HSW Compliance Auditing Program
- Work closely with Conestoga Meats Contractor Project Leads to provide contractors with our required contractor documentation
- Maintain a list of current contractor documentation to ensure compliance
- Design content for the contractor orientation
- Schedule and complete contractor orientation
- Monitor contractors to ensure compliance with day to day documentation (hot work permits, confined spaces permits, etc.)
- Act as the main contact between Conestoga Meats and the security team
- Confirm staff training is complete and documented
- Review with HSW Manager the roles and responsibilities of the security team on a regular basis
- Audit the security team as per their roles and responsibilities
- Maintain a visual presence in the plants assisting and identify workplace hazards and engaging our Team Members
- Create and distribute health and safety information communication on a regular basis
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree/diploma in a related field and a postsecondary certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations, Human Rights and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act
- Knowledge and experience in auditing HSW programs and initiatives
- Must be decisive, a team player and be able to work well under pressure
- Ability to effectively and efficiently deal with tight deadlines, and daytoday health and safety issues and concerns as they arise
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong persuasive written and verbal communication skills

Work Conditions
- Cold environment
- Noise levels may exceed 85 DbA (hearing protection is provided)
- May be required to work both shifts and an occasional weekend

- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
