Who is BDDEC:
The Beaufort Delta Divisional Council is a community-focused institution dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive learning environment that values Indigenous knowledge and traditions.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate Educator to be part of our team. The ideal candidate will contribute to developing educational programs that embrace diversity, promote equity, and celebrate our community's rich cultural heritage. This role requires a strong commitment to incorporating Indigenous knowledge, a competency-based curriculum, and innovative land-based education.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with educators, Elders, and community members to design and implement a competency-based curriculum rooted in Indigenous knowledge.
- Create a learning environment that includes diverse Indigenous perspectives and values the local Indigenous culture.
- Implement strategies to promote equity and inclusion, fostering a sense of belonging for all students.
- Act as a liaison between the school and the community to enhance educational programs.
- Integrate land-based learning opportunities into the curriculum, connecting students to the land and traditional practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education
- Eligibility for a Northwest Territories teaching certificate

Essential Criteria:
- Understanding of Indigenous cultures, history, and traditions.
- Proficiency in Inquiry-based instructional pedagogy.
- Experience in curriculum implementation, focusing on competency-based education.
- Skill in competency-based assessment and evaluation.
- Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Familiarity with land-based education principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
