Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada University of Saskatchewan Full time

Indigenous Programs Coordinator:

Core to the University of Saskatchewan's Strategic Plan, and true to the spirit of Indigenization, transformative decolonization, and reconciliation is the College of Education's commitment to creating a welcoming and accountable environment in which Indigenous students, staff and faculty thrive.

Recognizing the prominence of Indigenization as a strategic pillar, the College of Education continues to enhance and build programs and initiatives with and for Indigenous communities.

The College is home to ITEP, SUNTEP (delivered in partnership with the Gabriel Dumont Institute), the Indigenous Languages Certificate (ILC), the Master's in Indigenous Land-Based Education, a Master's level cohort in Indigenous Leadership, and a range of undergraduate and graduate level courses in Indigenous education.

Primary Purpose:

The Indigenous Programs Coordinator serves as a coordinator for land-based, and language-based Indigenous programming at undergraduate and graduate levels in the College of Education.

The Indigenous Programs Coordinator also leads on the strategic development of the College's commitment to Indigenous languages, supporting existing programming and developing new initiatives.

This position advises faculty and staff in the administration and coordination of on
- and off-campus Indigenous programing and services offered by the College of Education and serves a student advisory role in this programming. This position reports to the Dean of the College of Education and supports Departments delivering Indigenous programming. The position may also provide strategic and administrative support to the Aboriginal Education Research Centre (AERC).

This role is critical in interpreting academic policies and procedures, and handling student academic issues related to the community-based, land-based, language-based, and on and off

This position requires the development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with a range of personnel within the College and University, as well as groups and agencies external to the University, particularly, Indigenous communities and organizations.
