The Opportunity:
  • This role as an Application Systems Analyst in the City of Red Deer is crucial for process improvement and providing top-notch front-line customer service.
  • As the first contact point for enterprise application support, you will be responsible for triage, resolution, and escalation of issues, ensuring smooth hand-offs.
  • You will establish and execute standardized tools and procedures for ticket management, prioritization, and client communication.
  • Collaboration with IT staff, end-user departments, and external vendors is essential to ensure seamless support and continuous enhancement.
  • Active participation in IT projects focused on improving our line of business application delivery is a significant aspect of this role.
Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
  • A recognized 2-year Technical Computer Systems diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years' experience in a similar position working with Microsoft operating systems, network products, and desktop products in a medium-sized networked environment.
  • Experience in setting up hardware and software systems, performing maintenance, and support on software/hardware systems.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in programming, developing, implementing, or maintaining application systems in a medium-sized organization.
  • Minimum 1 year supporting medium to large scale purchased business applications with knowledge of enterprise class database management systems.
  • Additional experience in providing technical, application, or user training, working with Microsoft M365 products, financial, scheduling, registration, dispatching, or work management application systems.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with IT staff, end-users, and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic and potentially stressful environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Availability for after-hours call-outs and field service calls with a valid driver's license.

Remuneration:

$34.86 to $52.53 per hour

Hours of Work:

75 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work.

Additional Information:

Anticipated 14-month term position with work location at City Hall and other City Facilities.
