The Specialist, Revenue Management and Finance Operations reports to the Director, Financial Planning & Treasury and will play an integral and cross-functional role in the Finance team, with a focus on Revenue Recognition & Assurance, Business Partnering, Inventory Management, and Reporting (both internal and external). This person actively participates in monthly and quarterly closing and its related audit activities, as well as the annual budget and monthly reforecasting. The Specialist will also be instrumental in increasing operational capacities through the development of policy, process, reporting systems, and accounting and administrative resources.

The main responsibilities are :

Revenue Management and Assurance:

  • Responsible for the full cycle of revenue management and revenue assurance processes including month-end and year-end cycle, audit, invoicing, deferred revenue, and accrued receivable continuity schedule.
  • Perform month-end analysis of actuals for data integrity and accuracy.
  • Lead revenue management budget, overseeing financial strategies and resources allocation.
  • Develops and documents revenue assurance processes and procedures to detect revenue leakages from billing and other core financial systems.
  • Monitors revenue collection from all billable services and provides assurance to the business.
  • Responsible for understanding and reviewing revenue contracts, providing analysis against budget.

Finance Operations:

  • Participates in product and service development initiatives with the Business development team to implement operational revenue assurance plan.
  • Creates and owns efficient financial workflows while collaborating closely with the commercial team to align financial strategies with business objectives.
  • Responsible for inventory reconciliation and ensures visibility and accountability for variances.
  • Tracks and oversees purchase orders, ensuring they are delivered on time, and provide monthly trend analysis to improve procurement efficiency.

Data Flow and Reporting Collaboration:

  • Collaborates with IT resources and partners to ensure effective and timely flow of information.
  • Manages data to address multiple reporting objectives and KPIs.
  • Reviews and develops end-to-end revenue KPIs using Office 365 and Power BI platform.
  • Coordinates with the Financial Planning team for ad hoc requests and project status updates from a financial perspective.

SKILLS PROFILE AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant experience or combination of applicable education and experience
  • CPA accounting designation or Masters/MBA considered an asset
  • Experience in the telecom/ISP/satcom market(s) is considered an asset.

Other qualifications

  • Advanced software functions of the Office suite including Excel
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 - Business Central and Power BI is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English and French.
